went to swindon records office today,looked at purton 1841 but no luck ??? i don't think it was the full census because i couldn't find the mill.

                It was good of you to look for me. William does seem to be a bit of an enigma! I have now sifted through all the information I have to hand and will make that trip to Trowbridge soon. Thank you for all your help. Mistyrose.

Hello Paula,
                    I  have received the Death Certificate of the Mary Newman from Calne. It was William's mother. She died of TB in the Workhouse 26th May 1852. So I am hoping that there will be a record of what happened to her children in the Minute book of the meetings of the Poor Law Union. It's just one little step nearer {I hope!}. June
