I am the historian for the present Royal Artillery battery that was known as 38th Battery during the Boer War. I have information that I can pass on about some of the Battles they were involved with. I also have a list of names of some of the Officers and other ranks that were killed during these Battles. I can be contacted on       (*)
please put       38th battery alfred gilbert in the subject section and include ypour phone number so as we can chat.  cheers

Thank you. Any further information about the life of my great grandad would be much appreciated. I have forwarded to you the link for Ancestry for you to see my family tree and the details I have for the Gilbert side of the family. Alfred is the only great granparent I do not have a photo of. I am hoping that one may turn up at some point.
