Irregularly married
« on: Friday 30 November 07 05:04 GMT (UK) »
I have an entry in 1782 for a couple " Irregularly married"
other entries on the same page are "proclamations in order to marriage"
which I assume are banns.
can anyone enlighten me on the meaning of " Irregularly married" cheers Miska

Hello miska,

'Stickied' near the top of the Common Room, Useful Links board is a very useful thread called a 'LEXICON of Genealogical Terms and Abbreviations'.

The link is:
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,234766.0.html

If you scroll down to Marriage, you will find Irregular Marriage with links to several threads where this has been discussed/explained.

Good luck,

JAP
