hi pal,

looks like hay christened 6/10/1811 rothes, son of robert and janet adams.

this was the second hay as the first was christened 16/1/1808.

robert and janet adams married cromdale 7/7/1802

hi pal,

1871 census- back street, rothes

janet...age 80
eumphemia...age 18...domestic servant(think this is unnie's daughter)

1871 census- back street, rothes

william...age 27...wood merchant
janet...age 26...domestic servant
hay..age 21...labourer
mary...age 15

good news there that hay and janet make it past 1855, which will allow you to get janet's death cert and another generation back. also will confirm hay grant as her son.
