P.S. I think I had both over the head and button down the front liberty-bodices.  Kept me warm through cold London winters  :) :)

Mine had rubber buttons along the lower edges, if they were for fastening stockings to I can't for the life of me see how they were meant to be used  ???  ???

They were for strange suspenders to be attached to them and then the stocking attached to them. I remember seeing some in my Mum's sewing box - very odd things they were  ::) ::) ::)
