Great film "The Go-Between" but my favourite Alan Bates film is "Far From The Madding Crowd"  :)

They were for strange suspenders to be attached to them and then the stocking attached to them. I remember seeing some in my Mum's sewing box - very odd things they were  ::) ::) ::)

Thanks for that Gadget, you learn something new every day, another of life's little mysteries unravelled....

I used to use suspenders to keep cot sheets in place. Wonderful things.

Oh  Oh Oh Oh.....Gadget

I remember those suspender things.....Ma had them in her sewing box too...

They were metal and had a stocking hook/loopy thing at one end and a saw toothed thingy at the other that you could  snap onto your knicks...

Oh dear......how sad are we!

Indi......shrinking back into the past!

I used to play with them - I think they were some kind of vehicle and the buttons were people.

Does anyone else remember the button box? It used to keep me quiet for hours. the boring big black and brown ones with 4 holes were the men and the elegant, pretty ones were the women  :)
