Birmingham Coffee House Conference
« on: Monday 10 December 07 12:23 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone tell me whether the above , which took place on 29 April 1884, was a once off event or a regular event over a number of years? It had the backing of The Mayor of Birmingham so must have had some importance. Many thanks. Toby.

Tricia.
Sorry not to have replied before but the system is failing to warn me of replies but insists rather in always telling me that I have a reply from last April. I am unable to get rid of that.
All I know is on the card which hopefully I have attached. My g. grandfather would have been keen on the conference as he ran a coffee shop and was into temperance. Thanks for your interest.
Toby.

Hello Toby
This event is probably recorded in the Council House minutes held at the B'ham Library archives.

Thanks Jim. I shall have to try to get to the local archives.

Check with them before you set out, as they are temporarily closed at present.
