Hello Pels,

Thankyou very much for giving me the Census details. I was also about to check for the young boy Absolom when you provided the answer. However, In 1871 census, Isabella, dau, is shown as married, but was her married name given? Is Sarah E, 2, her daughter?  Thankyou.

The top one is how the enumerator described Isabella's marital status .. .. ..

But he had written 'do' for the surname Gledson for Isabella and the child .. plus he hasn't filled in the box for relation to head of family for Sarah E. ?

This is how the same enumerator wrote 'unmarried' further down the same page?

Hi Pels,

I note that there is a marriage for an Isabella Gledson and Joseph Archbold in 1852 Mar (Q) Morpeth. Perhaps this could be the same person. But I also note that Sarah Ellen Gledson is shown in 1869 births.

In 1851 Census two Hindmarsh grandchildren appear. Were these the children of Elizabeth - who only appears in 1841 Census listing? This family seem to have a lot of unanswered questions! Thankyou.

An Isabella Gledson married a Joseph Archbold in the  Mar.qtr of 1852. Morpeth registration district.

I'll just check the 1861 census for an Isabella Archbold and see what her details are!  :)

Sorry I've just seen your reply Printer ..

I can't find any obvious ones for Joseph and Isa* Arch* in 1861?

Marriage, Mar 1850
Elizabeth Gledson
Walter Hindmarsh
Cardiff, Vol 26, page 518

Hopefully this couple should appear in the 1851, if only to discount them?

This is turning into a mystery ..

In 1851 Elizabeth would have been approx 26 years old, when I put in her search details, omitting Walter because of the time difference for their marriage, this appears as the most obvious one?

1851 census:
HO107/2418, Folio 318, Page: 31

Northumberland, Bedlington

Walter Hindmarsh, h, mar, 29, Coal Miner, b. Northumberland, Byker
Elizabeth, wife, 26, b. Northumberland, Cowpen
Walter, son, 7 mths, b. Bedlington

I've posted the above for no other reason than it might come in handy .. I can't figure it out at all?

Pels  :)
