1891 census IoM - Evans / Kerruish

In 1869 in West Derby Eleanor Kerruish b. 1845 Ramsey IoM. married my relative David Evans b. 1840 Liscard / New Brighton Cheshire.

In 1871 and 1881 Eleanor's mother Mary born c. 1805 Isle of Man was living with them. (David was a ship's pilot and not home in 1881) in Toxteth.

In 1901 the family were living in Toxteth, no mother Mary Kerruish.

I haven't been able to find any of them, so far, on the 1891, and I wondered if perhaps they had gone to IoM, at about that time to visit.  Their youngest daughter Lilian was born in 1888 in Toxteth.

The only possible Mary Kerruish I could find on the English 1891 was born 1829 and living with another family entirely.

There is a death for a Mary Kerruish in 1894 in Toxteth, born 1808.

Can anyone tell me whether the family were on the Isle of Man in 1891 ?

Cannot    find   any  of  family   in   IOM  in   1891.

I   sympathise   with   your  search  for   common/   popular   surnames  ---   I   have   2   lines   with  the same name   !
How  lucky   you  are  though   to   have   such   a    distinctive   Manx   surname   as   Kerruish   in   your  tree.   My
paternal   grandmother's  sister   married  a  Ramsey   Kerruish   &   moved   to   Toxteth   to   flourish.   No   connection
to   your   lot   that   I   can  see.

No, I haven't seen the site you mention - I'll go and have a look shortly.

The Kerruish surname was indeed distinctive - it's just a pity that it was David who married a Kerruish and not one of his sisters!
