Do make sure that the router and /or wireless access point are not placed anywhere near a loudspeaker or other source of magnetism.

Why? Actually just from empirical evidence. We had a major problem with constant interruption of wireless connectivity usually necessitating reboot of the WAP ...until we moved it some distance away from the desktop woofer it had been sitting next to. Since then it's been fine.

Just wondered..... because magnetism has no effect whatsoever on radio waves.

Maybe it didn't like your music ?  ;D

I know, and I don't have a technical explanation.  I wondered if it was something to do with the onboard magnet in the speaker garbling some internal memory component in the WAP. Anyway the electrons seem to be flowing better now.

Why  ???

cos its been on tv a lot lately :P

That doesn't make it correct  ::)

honest lol, i mentioned it because for some reason there has been loads of adverts lately,
saying about moving your equipment away from the tv/router etc
not sure where they come up with these gems, would mean anyone having bt vision, cable or sky etc that connected into any of these boxes are in the s***
i suppose it's the same people who say you need a "digital" aerial
