Dang.. Thanks Trish, the Brennan's are a problem. How is it that two Ellen's marry two different Michael Brennan's at such a close date ? There's Ellen Kilfoyle m. 1843, St Patrick's Parramatta Roman Catholic and then there's Ellen Fogarty m. 1842 Roman Catholic, Maitland. And all those Michael's being baptised/born around the same time! It makes you want to rip your hair out!

The Irish must be the same as the Scottish and name the son after the grandfather - except if the son is the first born of the firstborn etc - we get Michael son of Michael son of Michael - and when there are two Michaels - ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Sarah Anne Brennan  was living in Oxley Street Bourke home duties no sign of Michael Brennan.

Guess what! I found out that Michael's mother's name was Ellen Whelan. I was absolutely delighted when I found that out. I'll probably find more information soon, but I want to thank all the people that help.
