death duty registers - help please
« on: Tuesday 18 December 07 12:05 GMT (UK) »
Have found an entry of interest to me in the the death duty registers on National Archives site.  :D

The column `degree of relationship' it states " D.B." & "D.S." what do these initials mean? On the entries for the other people on that page it is written in long hand eg niece, brother, etc :-\

Would be grateful if anyone could decipher this for me. Its probably really obvious  ::)

Many thanks

Hi sheddyg,

DB means descendant of brother and DS means descendant of sister.

Found in the Research Guide from TNA here:
