PrueM's Scavenger Hunt ........Everybody Welcome To Join In.
« on: Tuesday 18 December 07 12:37 GMT (UK) »

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the weekly Scavenger Hunt, this week it's PrueM's turn and has she got a doozy for you.  But, I believe all you Hunters out there will be able to help Prue in her search.

As we are rapidly approaching Christmas, this will be the last Hunt till after the holidays, but you are more than welcome to do revisions on any of the old hunts, and I'll give you plenty of warning for the start of Hunts in the New Year.

May I take the opportunity to thank each and every one of you for the brilliant work you have done on ALL of the Hunts ...........guys - you are marvelous and I'm proud of you.

OK, on with Prue's Hunt ..................good luck, good Hunting.

                               ***********************************

I am looking for more information about Thomas Cassidy and his wife Catherine, who lived on Jersey in the Channel Islands.
1.  I would like to try to find out where Thomas and his parents came from in Ireland
2.  Where/when he and Catherine were married.
3.  What was Catherine's surname, and who were her parents?
So many other questions, like why they went back to Ireland where their youngest daughter was born around 1844...I guess this explains why they are not found on Jersey in 1841 - they were probably back in Ireland for a few years.

Really, any little tiny bit of help that anyone can offer would be very much appreciated!  Have been on the hunt for this family for many years now.  THANK YOU!!

Thomas CASSIDY, Stonemason
b. Ireland ca 1801 (from the census)
bp. St Mary and St Peter Catholic Church, Jersey, 12 Nov 1817  (from the parish register)

Thomas's wife

it's looking tough already...

have looked on irish marriages but no thomas cassidy.

I'm presuming that Thomas was a military man and therefore got posted between Ireland and C.I. ?

Hello all  :)

THANK YOU for even thinking about helping me out with this one!  I know, I know - the Ireland thing always worries me a bit, and I've had absolutely NO luck to date with ANY of my Irish research, so some more expertise will be very welcome indeed  ;)

Sending you good wishes, good luck, crossed fingers etc etc. for your hunting  :)
