Trying to find Eileen Eleanor Ames (known as Eleanor) who I believe emigrated to South Africa in the 1950s. She married in UK, and must have had her children in South Africa. We believe she lived in Pietermaritzburg. She was born in UK in 1926. If anyone can advise, would be grateful.

Was AMES her married or maiden name?

There are only two AMES listed in the Kwazulu Natal telephone white pages :

Many thanks for this very helpful link. Ames is her married name, her maiden name was Baldwin. I will get more details and see what transpires - she may not be alive any more, but we are hoping that she is, she had two children who will now be in their 40s/50s. Need to find their names.
