Hi everyone
I have just spoken to a friend of mine ref Paris Midi and it is a newspaper if you google it (paris midi newspapers) you will find all the info you need. so just forget what I said before although midi also means what I said before.

if you know the date of birth you may be able to find the paper with it in. best of luck.

My Cousin many times removed is listed as having been born in Paris Midi France
We were searching for a birth place  ???

Edit: Please forgive if this sounded dismissive, Geoff. I didn't mean to be. :-[

Well I think if you find the newspaper and the date you may find the place of birth in it.

Seem to have forgotten to attach the name of the site I mentioned above - DUH!!!  Another senior moment...  :o

Here it is, and I'm sure it will offer a few tips for anyone wrestling with French genealogy:

Alf,

I have found the census entry to which you refer
RG 11/918/ Folio 10/ P.14/Schedule 58
and I don't think it does say Paris France, Midi on the original.
I think it might say Pau, France Midi.

Can someone else have a look at this please and confirm my suspicion.

Jennifer
