Very strange has me wondering now if as you say Walter Sturrock Low & Mary Ann Stewart getting married in 1878, my great May Lousie Low May be a daughter from Mary Ann Stewart having had a Marriage beforehand?

May will be the Mary in the 1891 c....she is younger than Jemima their first born...
so is Walters child

so Mary ann's father was a sailor..that might be why mary ann was born in England.......

Thanks Ev this is begining to fill in gaps that i have been wondering about for sometime i suppose now i know that he was a ships captain there should be some records somewhere of details of his journeys i hope regards jim

lily stewart(nee anderson) born c1823 died 1908 arbroath angus
james stewart born c1825 died 1916 arbroath angus
i saw them on the 1901 census in arbroath and james was listed
as retired sailor and lilly is 2 years older than james
both born arbroath

mary ann low(nee stewart) born c1858 died 1934 arbroath angus
as for walter low i can't find anything that matches up
