Happy new Year to you all out there.

I am trying to trace my family back a litle farther. The trail has gone cold.

My GGrandmother Sarah Clarkes' (Born 1883- 1946 in Calderbank) father was Robert Clarke, born Calderbank. His parents were born in N. Ireland (James Clarke and Margaret Paisley- married in Enniskillen,Co. Femanagh-can anyone help me locate the parents of these two?)

Robert Clarke married Susan Hunter Murie (1863) from Chapelhall, her parents David Murie (1834) married Sarah Hunter (? from Ireland).
David parents were John Murie( from Bothwell) married Jean C Anderson- this trail is now cold.

Sarah Hunter's parents William Hunter and Susan Cane ( ? from Ireland) again this trail has gone cold.

Can anyone shed any light on the people mentioned above-?
I have gained a lot of the info from Scotlands people- birth and marriage certs, but cannot find any more info.

be grateful for any help in locating the ancestors.

Thank you in advance

Mandy

Dear Mary
Thank you for the info, but, I have the following info from another source that the marriage date is 10/11/1855.
Could there have been two James Clarkes and Margaret Paisleys?

James Clarke
married
Margaret Paisley

on 10 November 1855

Place: Lisnaskea Registrar's Office
Registration district: Enniskillen
Book: 2
Page: 24

How can I get copies of their marriage certs and find their DOB's?

regards and many thanks again.

Going through older posts and just in case you have not obtained the 1855 marriage certificate you can order it here:
www.groireland.ie/apply_for_a_cert.htm
or from Registry Office in Enniskillen:
www.fermanagh.gov.uk/index.cfm?website_Key=47&Category_key=133&Page_Key=457

Irish marriage certificates are different from Scottish ones. Age is usually listed as 'full' or 'minor' until 1900s when this was changed to the age in years and then more recently the exact date of birth. Marriage certificates will list the fathers' names and occupations but not the mothers' names.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Dear Aghadowey

Many thanks. I had not been able to find the cert but will now certainly send off for it.
