Now after you sent me a Private message....that gave me a few names.
but the clue was the Death certificate that I had to buy ...you see that was what was crucial.
(I needed to know the occupation of the father, and who was deceased)
...for on the death of Jeanie Chads in Aberdeen 1932....father was James Cruickshank ..retired farmer deceased...
mother Janet Robertson.....alive...(this is very important..)
so I searched on Scotlandspeople for a death of Janet Cruickshank Robertson..after 1932..these were the choices....
1 1936 CRUICKSHANK JANE ROBERTSON RUSSELL F 79 ELGIN /MORAY 135/00 0059
2 1946 CRUICKSHANK JANE ROBERTSON F 82 ABERDEEN EASTERN DISTRICT ABERDEEN CITY/ABERDEEN 168/03 0082
3 1943 CRUICKSHANK JANET ROBERTSON F 86 TURRIFF /ABERDEEN 247/00 0018
4 1934 CRUICKSHANK JEMIMA C ROBERTSON F 40 CRUDEN /ABERDEEN 185/00 0003
5 1932 CRUICKSHANK JEMIMA JANE ROBERTSON CUMMING F 78 UDNY /ABERDEEN 249/A0 0010
6 1953 CRUICKSHANK JESSIE ROBERTSON CROLL F 64 CATHCART GLASGOW CITY/LANARK/RENFREW 644/19 0247
7 1947 CRUICKSHANK JESSIE BELLA ROBERTSON F 49 INVERURIE /ABERDEEN 204/00 0019
8 1951 CRUICKSHANKS JANE REID ROBERTSON WALKER GOODWIN F 75 MILTON GLASGOW CITY/LANARK 644/10 0116
I am basing a lot of hunches on her being always known as Janet....plus her being a suitable age.
I chose to see no.3
Now I could still be wrong here but I feel it is a strong chance....to being correct..
Janet Cruickshank widow of James Cruickshank, retired farmer....died 17th May 1943, at 5 Hillcrest, Turriff.86yrs.
father William Robertson, Linen weaver. deceased, mother Helen McGregor, deceased.
Informant...George L Taylor.son-in-law
George L Taylor married Janet R Cruickshank.20yrs..1913..her father was james Cruickshank..and janet Robertson.
James would have died between 1913 and 1932.
We know that Jean Chads nee Cruickshanks was 44yrs old in 1932 so she should have been born about 1888..
and I am doing a lot of presuming here...but I feel that we will find her in Aberdeen..if all the above is right..I don't know if she ever went to Canada, but we know she was with her husband in Aberdeen. at the end of her life..
