Do you have any more information relating to Joseph McRae family and the life he had while in the Te Wairoa village, which was wiped out by the Tarawera eruption......as one of Joseph McRae decendants we have been lead to believe that he had a child to a Maori women from the area but no one will put a name to the women or the child.  you may even have a suggestion on where to go  to find out........Any help greatly appreciatated

COOLAMON. Monday.
The death occurred this morning, about 3 o'clock, of Mrs. John Davis, a very old and respected resident of the town and district, at the age of about 72 years. The deceased has been a sufferer from asthma for some considerable time and the end was not unexpected. She leaves a husband
and grown-up family to mourn their loss. Mr. R. Davis, of Coolamon, and Mr. E. Davis, of Caulfield, are sons.
The funeral takes place to-morrow at 11.30 a.m.
