Mary

I think we mightr have the right family even though the names and dates are different than I originally had.

Obviously there is a lot more to do to prove or disprove the connection but I am at least going in a new direction. I realize that McCoy and Connolly are common names in Ireland but the combination of the two together gives me some hope.

Thanks again for the information

Don- where in U.S. did your Catherine McCoy actually live? Found a Catherine McCoy with parents Patrick and Catherine and siblings in U.S. and if it is your Catherine will perhaps point your research in a different direction.

That's the family I found Mary. Patrick McCoy and Catherine Connolly in Belleville, Essex, N.J. with children: John (1870), William Henry (1872), Julia (1876), Catherine (1878), Sarah (1881), Agnes (1885), Ann (1888).

Aghadowey and Mary

Thats my family. Where did you locate the information?

Apparently someone in our family is also doing research on that branch and I wasn't aware of their interest.

Now I'm at my original question of where Catherine Connolly and Patrick Mc Coy originated from.

I have them both born in Ireland but no location  This apparently does away with Newery as a birthplace.

Thanks again to both of you.

Not aware of anyone else researching your McCoys- the information I found was extracted records on IGI for the family. Go to www.familysearch.org and do a parents search for Patrick McCoy and Catherine Connelly and you will see their children listed. The LDS site is one of the first places you should check when researching any family/person. According to the records there your Catherine McCoy was not born in Ireland but New Jersey. I had seen the details of this family the other day when I asked you for more details of your McCoys but didn't mention them because there were too many differences between the names and ages on your list to those on IGI.
You can also search for the family in 1880 U.S. census on LDS site to see what country the parents were born in but civil registration of Irish births did not start until 1864.
