Im amazed at how organized you are Old Rowley!!!

I have about 20 files myself though nowhere near as organized as yourself!! I use noteboks too, which I really need to get into the habit of copying from into the folders!

Think Im going stationary shopping soon and starting again!!

Glad that you are still at it Annie.

One thing that I did not mention when I originally posted was that I have only one colour for the files, in this case it is white, and the card that I have with the titles on it in the spine is orange with bold black lettering. This way it is easier to see from a distance (my files are on the other side of the room away from the computer). The two files that has the correspondence in are also white but the lettering is on blue card as these are the ones that I use less it helps when searching for them.

As for your note books do not dispose of them once you have transferred the details over to your files (either on the computer or in hard paper form in your files). Instead, once copied, put them in a safe place in a storage box as you never know you may just need them at some stage.

Also as I type this, may I take the opportunity to remind you to do back ups on your computer on to a disc as it would be a shame to start the new year with a loss of your family history files that are stored there, if something where to happen to your computer. I would also recommend that you do this every couple of months if you are continually adding to it.
