kd....Jim is colouring this one as we speak....so I think it only fair to wait until he has posted it ;)
Your pics are only scanned at 200dpi...would it be possible for you to scan them between 300-600dpi as they are very pixelated...(Blocky)

When you open your scanner software....there is a box that says "Image Quality" and a figure that can be altered by the arrow to the right of this box...there you can up the dpi. to a higher value....hope this makes sense.
