Hi all

Anyone know how I can contact the above.
On the 9th Dec I ordered some census and B/cert info from them but so far have not received anything, although the money has come out of my account. The info on the website said the documents would be sent via e-mail within 5 working days. I've tried phoning but its never answered and the e-mail link comes up with an error message. Also the website has changed slightly, before when you have found your required info, there was a link direct to a purchase page but now there's a link  to a contact page instead.
I'm sure theres a reasonable explanation, I'd just like to be able to contact them and find out what it is.
Any help greatly appreciated

Mick

Hi Mick,

I'll give these guys a phone call but I can't do anything until Monday as the Centre only works Mon - Fri 9.00am - 5.00pm.  The page in the link you posted cannot be displayed but I assume this is the link ... www.irishgenealogy.ie

Hi maryderry,

County Derry Genealogy Centre is on the ireland.progenealogists.com website.
Heritage Library
14 Bishop St
Derry City
Co. Londonderry BT48 6PW

The Irish Family History Foundation shows an address for the Derry Genealogy Centre at 10, Craft Village, Shipquay Street. Are these one and the same centre? If so why have neither the Pro Genealogy people nor the IFHF people not mentioned the fact that the Derry Genealogy has closed down for the unforeseeable future.

Hi Mary,

Was the closure mentioned in the local press?

The Genealogy Centre in Derry City, a project of the Inner City Trust, was the designated Irish Family History Foundation Centre for County Derry.

What on earth has happened to their database of over one million entries of the major civil and church records for Co. Derry and the Inishowen Peninsula, Co. Donegal. They also had Special Collections: Oral History collection : a collection of recordings and accompanying transcripts from local people on various aspects of life from the 1920s onwards as well as past issues of London Illustrated News (later London News), Irish Telegraph (later Irish Daily Telegraph), Belfast Newsletter (mostly dating c.1850-1940) and the Capuchin Annual (c.1920-1970).

The Fianna website shows the address of the Co. Derry Genealogy Centre as 4-12 Butcher Street, Derry, BT48 6HL. It looks as though some sites don't keep their records up to date.

chris not to my knowledge that there was anything in the press.

i  myself worked for the the inner city trust some years ago recording oral history and transcribed a lot of the work. the building i worked in then was the heritage library on bishop street. the genealogy centre was the floor above us at that time, brian mitchell still ran it than, can't understand whats going on.i always found brian a very decent guy.

                            regards mary.
