Hi, I may be wrong here, but when I ordered records from Irishgenealogy.ie, using the Derry link, the reply came from

Irish Genealogy Ltd" <info@irishgenealogy.ie>  Kelly ann McGrorty

This e-mail confirmed my payment transaction from 'World Pay'  and should I have any queries to contact her at the above e-mail. Also that my records would be processsed by Brian Mitchell.

There was an attachment to this e-mail which contained my records. (and very pleased with them I was too...)

In other words , the records were not coming directly from Derry Genealogy centre.

Sooooo, although it doesn't solve the mystery of the Derry Genealogy Centre, I reckon it's Irishgenealogy who has your money!!!

If records were ordered directly from Derry Genealogy Centre the Irishgenealogy website might not have any connection with the order but wouldn't do any harm to contact them- you might at least find out what's going on there. Haven't seen or heard anything about Derry closing locally.

Glad you got your money back Mick but still doesn't explain why Derry closed and still haven't seen anything in local press about it.
Christopher, did you get the pm I sent you on the 8th Jan. with the reply I got from Irish Genealogy?

So...if I'm understanding this post...no one should order records from http://www.irishgenealogy.ie for Derry because they won't get the record  :-\

Shouldn't a moderator put some kind of warning sticky on this list  ???

Obviously the reopening will be sometime in the future ... ie the coming months. Why can't Council employees be more specific? They're not likely to do much reopening in months gone past.
