The marriage in Oxford Co that you can no longer find is on this web page, it looks from the 1881 census that J.J. has found you that he could be yours

Free BMD has a death for  a James Wilson in Hackney 1891....age 60

Haven't found a James Wilson on his own in 1881 census, though....so he may have been missed.

Ferguson Simpson Wilson is on there 1879, no Willemina circa 1875...but perhaps this one...Georgina Simpson Wilson...1875 (no sign of either on 1881)

I really owe you guys, I have been searching for the births of James and Annie for ages on Scotlandspeople and never found them. Probably  because I was convinced they were born in Angus....

Anyway, it does look like perhaps only James went to Canada and his siblings stayed in the UK.

I have looked for the death of James Sr in Scotland but no luck, so it looks that the entry in BMD is correct.

It also looks like Fornitia is really Tomina but that's Ancestry for you.

Now I'll see if there's a trace of James Jr and his family in Canada.

Sorry Indi I didn't mean to credit the wrong person for the 1881, without you we wouldn't have looked for the rest.

Sorry, I didn't mean to mix things up  ??? ???- it's just me, never can get things really straight.

A big thank you to all the people who gave help.

However it looks like the couple on the record I found isn't related to my Noble Simpson Wilson, because they marry in 1898  and james is only 21. That's must be wrong because "my" James was born in 1868, so he would have been 30, not 21.

It looks like ot was a Canadian Coincidence after all, but a lucky one for me, because I've found a missing part of my tree due to your eagle eyes and help.

Hi Greenvalley,

I don't think that I would discount James  so quickly.

The fact that his parents have  exactly the same names lead me to believe that he is your relative. I think he may have fibbed a little bit because he was marrying a 15 year old!  :-X :-X

He isn't in England in 1901....or at least I can't find him.

I have looked for James and his bride on the 1901 and 1911 Canadian census...without luck....but I will search more

Maybe he went to the US...maybe he went to OZ.....lots of possibilities.

I'm with Indi on this, as those were my thought exactly, that he may have made himself younger for the marriage....but I can't even find the Craigs let alone the Wilsons in 1901 / 1911...J.J.
