i've seen a lot of Bees House Keeper - presuambly they kept Bees , wells that what i thought until i just read your thread.

Looks like Licenced Lodging House under the address . . . which fits with the Beer Shop . . .   :)

He was at
No5 in 1851
No51/2 in 1861 and 1871 (23 in the house)
No 8 in 1881

Was he really in the same house all along I wonder?

Speaking of strange addresses....
I always though it was strange that one of my ancestors was born in Doctor Williams Library.  Dr Williams bedroom or surgery maybe, but library?? Then I discovered that the births were recorded in Doctor Williams Library!
Well, when you're heads down (bum up) in genealogy it's sometimes difficult to think laterally.  ::)
