her..........I have seen an item on the tv,heard several items on the radio and

read about her in the Daily Mail.She was the most beautiful woman from the

photo I've seen.

The vicar has opened a line for memorials to be read at the funeral.

       I also saw the story about Olve Archer in my mums paper but correct me if im wong but i thought it said she never got married. The picture of her when she was younger was showing here as a good looking young woman so if im right and she didnt marry i wonder why.

Sue, maybe she lost her boyfriend/fiance in WWII or the other most common reason is that she had to stay home to look after her parents.

Hi Lizzie,
             I can only think your right and there is a sad story behind this ladys life. My wish is that some family are found but she must have felt so alone those last 5 years in a home with no visitors.Its a sad story but i wonder how many other old people are like her. Some people must dread the thought of getting old and being all alone. Hope we can keep this post going as there is always a chance someone has her in there family and will come3 forward.Wouldnt that be lovely'

Thanks to everyone for contributing lookups etc.  I see from the Daily Mail the Reverend has been contacted by some of Olive's friends and former co-workers and several strangers are going to attend her funeral.    Here is the link to the updated story:

Last night I emailed a link to this page for the Reverend so that she would at least know the name of Olive's parents.  Apparently now I have been upgraded to a "genealogist in Vancouver" LOL.   Never mind at least Olive will be remembered and thanks to the newspapers some people who knew her will be there to pay their respects.

There must be a lot of other elderly in a similar position.  Even if only a few people take up visiting the elderly after reading about this in the papers at least some good will come out of it all.
