Hi Tessy
I'm pretty certain that Ralph Heddon, born Newburn 1807, is not yours as I have found him in the 1851 census with relatives in Wylam, which is about 3 miles from Newburn. Also a Ralph Heddon died in Tynecastle Ref District in 1869 age 62 who is probably him.

If you go to the link below you will see that OPR's for Carham, St Cuthbert up to quite recently are available at the Northumberland Collections Service. With a bit of luck you might find Ralph and Jane's marriage and even if it doesn't have their parents, it may indicate whether Ralph is from a different parish.

Thank you for that info about Ralph Heddon in Newburn and the tip about the Parish records Andy

I'll drag my friend down to Woodhorn and see what we can find. I'll post if we get any more information.

Thanks again

Tessy
