Roper & Parker Berwick
« on: Thursday 10 January 08 20:48 GMT (UK) »
Hi All
Hoping to  find the parents of Ellen Parker 1832 Berwick can find her in the 51 census as a servant but cannot find her in 41. In 61 she is with John Roper and their first child is born 1854, cannot find marriage for this couple. Have Birth Certificate for one of the children that is how I know her maiden name is Parker. Have been going round and round with this family
Thanks for all your help Janet

1841 census :
Shore, Tweedmouth, Berwick upon Tweed, Co. Durham.
Catherine Parker, age 45
Elizabeth Parker, age 12
Ellen Parker, age 10
Sarah Parker, age 6

All down as born in Scotland.
Parts of Berwick were classed as Co. Durham in 1841, for some strange reason.

Northumberland - Smith, Willis,
Durham - Rogerson, Child
Cumberland - Irving, Hill
North Yorkshire - Layfield,
Ireland - Collins
