I think I had a very simple one to use some time ago called ''The Times Family Tree Maker'' (or something similar). You could do trees by ascendent or descendent - made life a lot easier when trying to explain to newly found realtives that you're not a lunatic trying to steal their identity.

I picked it up from Game - about a fiver. Probably get it cheaper than that now, but I use Tootmagic instead - no  doubt someone else could tell you a better one again
census info is Crown Copyright from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk

Buckley - Maesteg, Tipperary
Lane - Waterford
Hughes - Hay/Hereford
Hobby - Byford
Evans - Neath/Cadoxton
Whitty - Wexford, South Wales
Connell - Ireland, and possibly Liverpool
White - Kinsale, Cork
Ahearn(?) - Glanmire, Cork
Millward - Merthyr, Maesteg

Hi Jenny,

If you look up FH Programs in the

RootsChat Lexicon / Topic Catalogue (click here)

you'll find a list of topics where this question has been discussed.

Everybody will tell you "mine is best" so look out any where they have trial offers, so you can try for yourself (import the same GEDCOM file into different programs)

Good luck,
Bob

Have you tried the All-in-one tree?

It should do everyone in your database.

Click on the Tree Charts icon on the toolbar and select All-in-one tree.
