There is another death reg between the dates you have given
Alice M A Claridge
age 62
Dec qtr 1935
Paddington
1a 15

What puzzles me a little is-if she died in Plaistow Essex why would her death be reg in Westminster or paddington district?????

I think this is John
John Claridge
age 62
Dec qtr 1931
West ham
4a 78

that's the correct district -and the age matches

I'm not convinced the death reg's for Alice M are the correct ones -is there anything at all which in the pages of the magazine which could narrow it down a little? Any news items ?

She died in St Lukes Hospital in the far west of London, just re read the obituary.  Does this make sense with your entry Suz as her initials were AMA but I thought it may have been a typing error in the other entry.

When I looked again at Tonis one I saw 2nd quarter and I am pretty sure she died around November time so I believe you have found me the correct one.

Thanks to you both for taking the time and trouble to brighten my day.

That looks great for grandad, I think you have found them both.   I have a vague recollection of dad saying he lost his dad when he was 16 and mum when he was about 20.  He was born in 1914 so these two would fit with that.

As I say my recollection was vague so i didn't want to tie down the dates exactly.

i must admit i didn't carry on looking once i found the death i listed

and yes the reg district would be wrong for Essex, have you cionsidered that she might have lived there but died elsewhere as the death like a birth has to be registred where it took place.

Holman & Vinton- Cornwall, Wojciechowskyj & Hussak- Bukowiec & Zahutyn, Bentley & Richards- Leicester, Taylor-Kent/Sussex  Punnett-Sussex,  Bear/e- Monkleigh Gazey-Warwicks

Thank you anyway Toni I did appreciate you checking for me.  Would the death in St Lukes Hospital fit with registration in Paddington?

Yes it would at that time.

Let's hope you find the grave now.

Burials from St Phillips are in an allotted area at the East London Cemetery Plaistow

That clinches it then Suz, thats another little part I can add into my tree.  I will be off to London as soon as time and finances will allow and thanks to you I now know where to look.
