Advice please
« on: Saturday 12 January 08 18:52 GMT (UK) »
I am a total novice at this sort of thing, but willing to have a go, if it can be done fairly easily.

I have seperate photos of four generations and wondered if could take the people out of each photo and create one single new one showing them altogether.

If this can be done then what is the easiest way to do it. Please bear in mind that I am new to this...LOL

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Nicky

Post then on Rootchat and I'm sure you will soon get a reply.

You wil need a photo manipulation programme and be able to cut out each person and then paste back into a new backgorund.

can be done but please scan each photo at a MINIMUM 300dpi

If you wish to do it yourself... do you have a graphics program?
Basically open all photos plus a new background and copy and paste onto the background (creating a new layer for each person), you can them move the cut images around till you have something you like then flatten the layers.
There are several ways of doing it  and it does depend on the quality of the photos you wish to merge.

If you post them on here, I'm sure several people will have a go for you.

Hi Nicky
It can be done, but we need to see the images to advice you how best to do it (but beware, if you provide the 4 images I'm sure someone will beat you to it ;D ;D ;D )
The ball is in your court ;) ;) ;) ;)

Hi Nicky,
any photo editing program that suports layers can be used to make a montage.
Even 'Paint' that comes with Windows can be used if you're prepared to work for several hours and ruin your eyes! I did that once years ago before I got Paint Shop Pro! 8) Very, very tedious  :o
But yes, just post your pics and someone is sure to give you a hand.
Cheers,
Leonie.

Hi
Thanks for the replies, here are the photos.
In the photo with the man and the boy it is the man I would like in the photo.
The order from left to right would be the gentleman in the uniform, black and white head of man, man (minus the boy) and the boy at the wheel.
If possible heads and shoulders and in black and white.

I am going to have a go, but I think your results will be far better than mine!!

Hi Nicky,

The photo you have posted of the man and boy - its only 72dpi... and very small compared to the other 3. Do you have the photo?  If its a digital one already on your pc, print it then scan it at a higher resolution

thanks
