The film readers have been busy at the Local Histoey Centre so today was the first chance I have had to use one, as it happens that has helped. Instead of looking up the Chronicle I have been searching Directories and Electoral Rolls and included John Graham in those I was looking for

DEATH OF FORMER UNITED DIRECTOR
For several years a director of Newcastle United football club Mr John Graham, a former postmaster of North and South Shields, died at his home in Sefton Avenue, Newcastle yesterday aged 85.
A native of Seahouses Mr Graham spent 43 years in the Civil Service. He was appointed Postmaster of South Shields in 1919 and of North Shields in addition a year later, returning in 1923
