Hi Adam,

I just stumbled on your message a year later.  I would be interested in the inscription on the Borrow headstones.

Thank you,
Aja

Hello Aja. Here is the inscription for the single Borrow gravestone:-

In memory of Thomas Borrow of Hartley Burn, who died November/8/1841? aged 59 years.
Also Mary his wife, who died at Monkland in Ayrshire April/9/1844 aged 54 years.
Also Betsy, Mary, Jane, Isabella, George, Thomas and John, sons and daughters of the above who died at Jarrow.
Also John his brother, who died at Alston August/3/1846 aged 67 years.
Also Ann, wife of John Borrow, who died August/5/1853 aged 62 years.

This is the only graveyard that I have done in Cumberland most of my work is from Weardale in Co Durham.

I noticed that there is one 1790 ish Borrow gravestone in West Auckland , Co Durham
(Thought I would mention it in case it may be of interest.)

Thanks Adam.  That is the Borrow family I was looking for.  The inscription has filled in a few blanks for me.  Thanks again!
