Hi Beckey,

I can't see Roderick in 1901 but this should be Edwin in 1881:
http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/sse.dll?db=uki1881&indiv=try&h=2866956
RG11/3437 77 19

his age is 3 months.

Hi Tati,

Thanks for the info. got the details but not a census print out, kept referring me to the 14 day trial, which I don't want.

Any one got the 1891/1901 census of Edwin Mitchell bc 1858 Leeds, wife Mary Ann Mitchell (nee?)  bc 1855 Greendore Lancs., Roderick doesn't seem to turn up on any census in 1901

1901 - no Roderick with them  :(

What do you know about Roderick? Do you have his marriage certificate to confirm his father's name?  :) Else the best thing you could do is order his birth cert.

Hi Tati,

Thank you very much for that info. the second family are a better bet from what I know, being woodman, Edwin might be younger than I thought and John was also a woodman ( met him many years ago) and the place fits in.

Roderick was my stepfather, that's why the info is so sketchy.
