Roger- I wonder if the Susan Boswell born abt 1841 in your line could be my grt grt grandmother. She has a sister Rebecka for whom my grt grt grandmother named her daughter. Also my Susan/Susannah was buried under the name Boswell which never made since to me. Her obituary has her death at 104 yrs old but my family always said they believed it was 102 which would match your Susan. I realize this is not enough for a conformation but I believe we may have something here. I have a death record of their son Oliver and it has both Susannah & Samson birthplace in Oxford. I know Samson wasn't born there but they may have lived there and we may find records from that area. The document doesn't list Susannah's maiden name only says unknown so that is still a mystery to me.
Just a heads up-Sandy

Sharon- Thanks I will take your tips to heart! I am trying to validate all I have or connect it in some way to my line. I am trying to find the Christening of Delorain Boswell born June 18 1969 in New Jersey to Cornelius & Delorany Boswell but can't seem to locate any records do you have this actual record? Also I was able to locate an Alfred but it was in Manchester not
Cheshire. I would like to find actual records with both Cornelius & Delorany on it. If so I will buy the records but I hate to buy something without at least having a chance to know I have the right family first. There must be another name that she went by because I am having very little luck finding anything on her. I am finding Cornelius but I can't be for sure it is Delorany's husband.
Any help appreciated-Sandy

Does anyone know any of the names mentioned below? All are deceased and I am searching for more info on my family.

My grt grt grandfather was Samson Boss (may have went by nellie) his children Oliver, Delilah, Moellus, & Phoebe with Susie Gray. His last wife was Susannah (may have went by Janie Rowells or another name) and they had a daughter Rebecca who married Charles Boswell and they camped in Chicago around the same time period you're speaking of here. They had a son Oliver who died at the age 18. My grandmother was Nellie Boswell and was married 3 times, To a Haight, a Walter Cook (my grandfather who died before I was born, I've never even seen a photo of him) and a Murphy. I am looking for information on my grt grandfather Charles Boswell born abt 1875 (last name maybe Wainwright) who had a sister named Elizabeth who was suppose to have a casino of some sorts. Or any information on any listed here. Any Info would be greatly appreciated especially photos. Thanks! I believe Charles was from the lovell family. He states on SS record his mother was Delorany Lovell and his father Corneilous Boswell.
Thanks!

Hi, regarding Sampson Boss/Boswell and Susannah Williams
I believe Sampson Boss to be the son of Riley Boss and Lucy Boswell (daughter of Tyso Boswell)
Susannah Williams was the daughter of Job Williams and Elizabeth Boswell (daughter of Tyso Boswell)

In 1861 census High Bebington, Cheshire, England
Sampson Boss (head of house is his brother Isaac Boss)
Susannah Williams (with parents)

Susannah's sister Rebecca married William Stewart (son of Isaac Stewart and Jane Francis - they are my 3 x gt grandparents)
Susannah's sister Delinda married Joshua Gray
Susannah's sister Lucy married Frederick Young (daughter Richender is in 1861 census with William and Rebecca Stewart)
The Stewart's went to America in 1861 travelling with them was Richender Young

Another sister of Susannah's was Bathsheba who married Uriah Wharton

Job Williams is said to have died in England and his widow Elizabeth went to America (from information regarding the Boswell family by Elizabeth's brother)

Sampson Boss died in 1916 surname recorded as Boswell, father recorded as Riley Bosswell born England and mother Unknown, informant Oliver Bosswell

Marriage: Sampson Boss and Janie Rowells, 11 October 1883, Tallapoosa, Alabama

Bye - Suffolk, Durham, Northumberland
Currie - Cumberland & Northumberland
Stewart - Durham (Isaac Stewart)
Francis - Ireland & Durham
Falla - Northumberland (Selby Falla)
Smith - Aberdeenshire (Erskine Smith)
Gardner - Ireland (Singleton Gardner)

Sampson Boss is also my grt grt grandfather and his daughter Delilah is my great grandmother. Delilah 's mom was Susan Gray.  Delilah married Joseph young son of  Frampton   Heron/young and Louise smith (may have went by a different name) Susan Gray was Sampson's first wife they had 4 Children Oliver, Delilah, Moellus and Phoebe  all born in the US.

Colleen
Sharon I have a Delilah in my line and since I have yet to connect a true last name to her mother she may be of interest to you. I have come across the name Smith but dismissed it because I had not heard it before. The Delilah I have was born in the US abt 1869 to Samson/Sampson Boss & Susannah Williams who was listed in the US census as his mistress. The name on her headstone was Boswell so I am not sure what the real truth may be yet.

Hello, Lee once said that through history talk the Dark Youngs being of the original Gipsy Romanys went to America, He said one day a big rain storm came, frogs fell out of the sky, the Dark Youngs then He said came back to this land, everybody can take from this history what they wish to take, maybe the Youngs changed their name again, I wont go on about what happened and how you see things , maybe you have to look back to this land sometimes for the American ones, I bet lots never stayed there and came back for many reasons, Good Luck
