Canada Children
« on: Thursday 17 January 08 22:23 GMT (UK) »
Hi Researchers

My stepsister has asked me to try and trace some of her inlaws relatives.

Apparently her Mother in Law was named Flossy Williams when she married Frank John Rogers at St Andrews Church, Lambeth in 1919, but prior to that and on her birth certificate it said Flossy Craddoock born c1901. (No trace of her ever having used that Craddock surname again)
She was one of 4 children - Emma, Eliza, Joshua and then Flossy.  Apparently when mum Ada their mother was having problems and the children were taken into care - with Emma as the eldest being put out to service; but Eliza and Joshua were shipped off to Canada by Banardos without the permission of their parents c1907.

Would appreciate any help in locating information on Eliza and Joshua.

Thanks in Advance

Chris in 1066

Sorry, a little mistake crept in above - the mother of the four children is at the moment unknown.

Wow, you are certainly on the ball - thank you very much.

There is quite a bit of info there to go at, and I belive that in 1965 there was a re-union in England of those Children.

My stepsister phoned me this evening to say she has found a small tin in the bottom of a wardrobe given to her son by his grandmother Flossy that has some correspondence between them and Dr Banardo which I am waiting to have details of - then maybe it will help us to sort this out a bit better.

But please, please accept my thanks for all your help so far

Much appreciated

Thank you for that extra information - I will put it on the back burner for now as it has a few discrepinies.

Joshua was born in London c1894, son of Flossy (Florence)  M Craddock / Williams; Youngest sister was Flossy - Father unknown at present.

But thank you anyway

J.J and Janice M

On the Home Children Immigration Records (I have printed off copies of each) that you gave me information on about Joshua and Elizabeth Williams on the ship Dominion - they both state

Comments; See also C-4716 and T-528

What are those references to, and how does one read those comments.

I notice that both Elkizabeth and Joshua have the same Reference Number of RG76 C 1 a

Would appreciate your advice here please
