Evening Chronicle Look Up Please
« on: Friday 18 January 08 15:50 GMT (UK) »
My grandmother Emma KITCHEN died 164 St Cuthberts Road Gateshead on 26th April 1911
Her daughter Emma KITCHEN died in the Workhouse Hospital Gateshead on 18 June 1913

They both died of TB

I would love to find their obituries if there is one, if it is possible.

My father Charles KITCHEN was 10 when his mother died.

Hello Noreen
You are out of luck Im afraid. 1911 has not been filmed and there was no sign of Emma around the 18 June 1913. If you have any others post them here and we will see if you have better luck with them

Grant, I am extremely grateful for your kindness in searching for them for me.

Did the families pay a fee for the obituary?  If so, they were probaby too poor to have an entry in the newspaper.

I have the 1911 census and Emma my grandmother dies 3 weeks after it is taken.  It is clear and well written with no spelling mistakes except Wixley - instead of Whixley for Emma nee STYAN by my grandfather Anthony.

They are not on the 1901 Census.  My father Charles died when I was 24 and newly married.  I have never met personally any member of his family.
