Thanks Annie

Everytime I've checked the IGI Thomas wasn't on.  Think I'll go through it again maybe I'll find his siblings.  There was a James Taylor as a witness on Thomas's marriage cert so presume it's his brother.  there are several possible James but which one.  I'd hoped to find a joiner like Joseph or a clogger like Thomas but only wevers.

Something will turn up eventually.  at least I have a stating point.

cheers

Dave

Hi Dave,

Walmersley Road is a really long Road, I checked the census and number 22 is very close to the town centre so again could be St Mary or St John.

I think no 22 has been pulled down now.  Last year I went past and had a look round the back but was full of black bin bags and other rubbish.  Couldn't make out if it was the original house or a more modern one with the same number.
didn't see any old clogs lying about ha ha.

Cheers
Dave

nope.. I only have a list of marriages of Taylors around the area but no baptisms. I do think I have seen Joseph tho, because I was looking for an Eliza Taylor born about 1824 and I may have come across that one in 1826. (my Eliza's parents were Robert and Martha.

Hi Dave,

I shall have to have a look out for number 22 and let you know.

If you come to visit Bury Records, one thing you should have a look at is the picture archive. It is all on the computer and any photographs that take your fancy only cost about 10 pence for a photocopy.

Regards
Sarah :)

Interesting. One of my ancestors, Margaret Atkinson, was born in Bell Lane in 1844.
