Another thing from the record that I don' understand is under age it says FE - anyone know what this would mean please?

Having looked at the record you sent me it appears to show him joining in 1917 as an Aircraftman II and staying as that until he joined the RAF. Dare I question the view that he was a Petty Officer? I'm not an expert, far from it, but take a look at this and see if it helps take this further:

Thank you  for taking a look at the record. I'm no expert either but that RNAS uniform does look like the one Albert is wearing. Any experts about who could take a look?
