William Stobbs / Mary Chatt

I am trying to find details of the marriage between William Stobbs and Mary Chatt. They had several children, Edward born 1826 and the youngest George born1838. I obtained George's birth cert. to find Mary's maiden name but cannot find any parish records re their marriage. Any help or tips would be greatfully recieved. Geoff

Maybe / probably William's second marriage ?

IGI has a marriage for a William Stobbs to Hannah Stephenson 11 Aug 1821 Allendale, perhaps his first marriage?
but there's also a baptism for an Edward Stobbs 9 Sep 1825 parents William & Mary

There is an ancestral file on familysearch for William Stobbs and Mary Chatt, have you had a look at it?

Thanks Barbara and mum44 for your help. I can find ref to a marriage to Mary Smith but cannot find your references to Mary Chatt or Hannah Stephenson. I must be doing something wrong - are you using the LDS website or another? Regards, Geoff.

Hi Geoff,

just using www.familysearch.org

If you enter just Willliam Stobbs in name and England in country the page that appears has a first heading Ancestral file, scroll down and you'll see no.15 a birth for William 1834 Low Acton, Allendale, click on that and you'll see the family file I referred to, member-submitted of course, so not definite facts.
Going back to the search page, this time enter his name, then 'marriage' date 1827, year range 10 years, and England, the page that comes up gives details of both marriages mentioned (you will have to click on the 'over 25' at the bottom to get the 1833 details).  Both marriages are extracted from parish records.
