Looking for Richard's death
« on: Tuesday 22 January 08 08:45 GMT (UK) »
This one is really bugging me. He's the only one of his siblings I don't have all details for..

Richard Newton was born St Johns Newcastle in July 1840, I have him in all the census till 1901 when he was at 57 Maple St Westgate with his son William. He was an "engineer at works"
His wife Ellen died in 1885 and is buried at Westgate.

Can anyone help please?
Sylvia

Hi Sylvia

Possible Death Registration

1925 Newcastle on Tyne OND quarter 10b 80

Richard Newton aged 87

If you think that he stayed in Newcastle, this one almost fits mathematically but there is no guarantee that it is definitely your man.

If you think that he could have left Newcastle, there are other mathematical possibilities in 1915 Salford (aged 75) or in 1928 Darlington (aged 87).

Thanks DS, I'll try that one.  :)
At least one of the family managed to live to a ripe old age.
Definately sounds hopeful. Where did you find it?

Hi Sylvia

Sorry for not responding sooner

The entry is from the complete General Register Office Index 1837-1983 which is available online from various subscription or pay per view sites.
