Leics. Trade Directories - 1920s/30s/40s
« on: Wednesday 23 January 08 13:01 GMT (UK) »
As the Historical Directories website no longer seems to be active, I wondered if anyone had trade directories covering Barwell (near Hinkley).

I have a photograph taken by

R.C. TIPLER, Photographer, of 68 Mill Street, Barwell

(most likely pre-WW2) and would be interested to have some idea of when he was in business.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi Pauline ...

Not for me, it isn't!!!  All I get (when doing any type of search) is a blank white page with the following in the top lefthand corner:

1fb <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"

Tried yesterday evening and several times this morning, but no difference.

Hi Pennie

Did you get the Directories to work?

It might also be worth posting on the Photo Restoration board to see whether anyone has specialist knowledge to add.

Please add a link to/ from this thread if you do that though.

kind regards, Arranroots  ;)

Have now emptied my browser cache, but doesn't seem to make any difference (still getting that same line of print mentioned in previous posting)!

Any chance that SKS who can access the Historical Directories website can have a look for me (details in first posting of this thread).

Many thanks for any help.
