Fitzsimmons
« on: Thursday 24 January 08 10:19 GMT (UK) »
I'm looking for a Jane Fitzsimmons from Ireland (area unknown), who lived at 11 New Street, Kilmarnock during 1901 census, with her 9 year old grandson, Henry Colville.  She had a daughter, Mary (other siblings unknown) who married David Colville on 10/02/1891 in Kilmarnock.  Fitzsimmons was Jane's married name.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Sharon

If Jane's daughter Mary was married in 1891 then Jane would have been born before civil registrations of births in Ireland began. To search for church records you need to know her maiden name, religion and where the family lived (parish if not townland not just county or Ireland).
If Jane died in Scotland you will probably have better luck searching for information in Scottish records. See Scotland's People website to see what details should be on certificates and how to order them.
