Pershore Burials where to look?
« on: Thursday 24 January 08 13:45 GMT (UK) »
I'm not familiar with Worcestershire/Pershore at all.

Where do I look to find info on Samuel Rammell (d 1857) or Hannah Rammell nee Holling (d1855) both in Pershore. Are there any MIs I can get hold off? Or burial records?

Thanks

Tx

Hi Sparkle,

Pershore MI's may be available from BMSGH http://www.bmsgh.org/bookshop/worc/wo_p.html Also check our FreeBMD at http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/ for certificates.

Use the the 1851 census (and to a lesser extent the 1841) to look at the family situation.  The BMSGH Worcestershire Marriage Index will help you find the marriage if it wasn't in Pershore, visit Worcester Record Office http://worcestershire.whub.org.uk/home/wcc-records

If you can't visit try your local LDS Family History Centre where you can, for a small fee, import the parish church films of the registers.

Good luck

Hi, Tracey,
If you are looking for burials in Pershore itself, contact:

 Pershore Hertiage & History Society
 C.A. Edwards.
 36 Allesborough Drive,
 Pershore,
 Worcs.,
WR10 1JH

I popped in there to see them - they produced a large volume of burials for Pershore but I don't know what dates it covers. Don't bother to contact the vicar of Defford & Besford. He was totally disinterested when I wrote to him about the Phillips family from there. Good luck. Hope you managed to deal with the Ancestral Files.
