I think I need your help again in finding Matthew ( b Stepiny 1847) parents


I have looked for young Matthews parent at www.familysearch.org and found George and Herriot nee Williams married at Stepiny

This confusing to me as I also found the marriage and this George was born 1820 

Matthew sen and Mary Nee Gregson were married 1824 and have a son born 1833

So who does young Matthew who is with his grandparents in 1851 belong to

Hi Elizabeth,

Where have you looked for Matthew? Did you find him in 1861?

His birth, parents' marriage etc were member-submitted on the IGI site so dates not to be relied on  - but Matthew doesn't have to be little Matthew's father, George & Mary probably had another son George b. 1820.  Will look for him in census

Now then, in 1851 little Matthew grandson was with his grandparents George & Mary

Here he is (twice on the census, it happens sometimes!) with his mother Harriet living in the same street, husband George obviously away at sea:

I found Matthew's birth in IGI also he has a twin sister Herriot ( I think this should be Harriot ) born 1847
