Kerrill,

It might be better if you posted this on the Military board , they might be able to give you some information.

Do supply what you already know about them though.

Hi Kerril,

I wonder if you got any names for this photo, or any other information about Jack Keogh, as he was my father's uncle

Hi Paumurp,
this was originally posted by me on behalf of my sister who has since passed away, I can tell you that the man in the middle left of the man with the big flat cap was Tom Keogh I dont know if he was related to Jack but he was a barber in St Michaels square.

If I can be of any assistance please get in touch.

I don't think there is a connection with Thomas Keogh, but I could be wrong. Jack Keogh would have been about 14 in 1916 so not sure if he's any of the men in the photo. (assuming we're talking about the same Jack Keogh, who was a commondant in IRA in early 1920's.

I have a contact on twitter who is very interested in anything to do with Jack Keogh, If its ok I'll send him the photo

Yes by all means do, It was given to me from Tom Keogh's son, his name was Joe who lived in Ballinasloe and was one of the nicest persons I have ever come across, he once told me that when he was a lad Jack Keogh gave him a push bike for delivering some fish to a local butcher, when I asked him if he was any relation he said he did not think he was. The story I was told by a local man was Jack was on the anti treaty side during the war of Independence. If you look close at the photo there are some young lads on it so it could be that Jack is on there but without knowing any of the other men I would say it is a lost cause :-\

Aye, there are a few stories related to Jack Keogh, must notably escaping from the National Lunatic Asylum, note the Central Mental Hospital in Dundrum, in the back of a Clery's bread van. There's even a song about it.
