john stubbs/sophia ? marriage

Can you please find me marriage details of these 2 people.
John Stubbs born c1818 Scotland married a ,  Sophia ? born c1822 Scotland

Im also trying to find John Stubbs on any census records in Scotland if you can put me on the right path.

I no john Stubbs had a son called Abraham Stubbs born c1843 Scotland.He married a Catherine Coleman.Marriage was c1868.

Any info regarding the stubbs history will be much appreciated

Im not sure if john stubbs or his son abraham moved to nrth yorkshire from scotland.Abraham's son is called Thomas Stubbs and he is my g/g granfather and he lived in Middlesbrough as i still do now.

Im trying to get further back than John Stubbs born c1818 Scotland but because i dont no were in Scotland he was born i dont no were to post the message,hope this makes sense

That's ok was just wondering where N. Yorks came in.  What's the earliest census where you've got the family from Middlesbrough? Please could you post some details?

It might be best to start with Thomas b.1876 and gradually work backwards to find all the census information

I take it you have Thomas & Sarah's marriage certificate giving their ages and fathers' names and occupations?  But no census information, is that right?

Their marriage was as you said in 1899 Middlesbrough
James M. Stubbs was born in Stockton district 1901 so I'm assuming this was the family in 1901:

Abraham Stubbs married Catherine Coleman 27 August 1868 High Church district, Glasgow

Going by the children's births, it's possible John married Sophia in England, but haven't found the marriage either there or Scotland.
