If they were married in Llangadock, the marriage would be in the Carmarthen registration district. There are 2 showing up on FreeBmd in the period you're hoping for
june qtr 1878 vol 11a pg 899 with Margaret Harris on the same page
june qtr 1879 vol 11a pg 900 with Margaret Hughes on the same page

With common surnames, the only way of being sure is to go one step at a time and get the birth certificate for one of the children first, so that you know you're looking at the right marriage.

If two people were both born in and married in Llangadock, then would'nt Llangadock fall under the district of Llandovery. Any help out there ? ??? ???

Hi

Langadock does come under Llandovery district.

There are three entries for William Davies for the period 1878 - 1880 with margaret on the same page:

Dec Q 1878 11a 958 there are two Margarets on the page, Thomas & Davies

Sep Q 1880 11a 944 Margaret Pergyne Davies

Dec Q 1880 11a 1107 Margaret Thomas

Fisherman, My grateful thanks for the kind information that has I think led me in the right direction with my William Davies, who was the illegitimate son of Thomas Davies, Vicar of Llangadock. Cheers :)
