I am not sure how Catherine Beattie relates to the original post but I found the following on Ancestry.com which may or may not be her.
Boston Passenger Lists 1820 - 1943
Name: Catherine Beattie
Arrival Date: August 20, 1912
Age: 23
Ethnic: Scottish
Port of Departure: Glasgow
Port of Arrival Boston, M. A.
Ship: Parisian
Last Residence: Scotland
Birth: Aberdeen Scottland
Occupation: Servant
Next of kin : Mother 1 Stephen Place, 556 George Street, Aberdeen
No census records as she arrived in 1912 and apparently died in 1918.
No marriage record
Nothing else...
Checked for Catherine Doig:
New York Passenger Lists 1820 - 1957
Catherine Doig
Arrival : October 1, 1916
Age: 27
Port of Departure: Liverpool
Port of Arrival: New York
Ship: Philadelphia
Last Residence: Aberdeen
Occupation: Wife
Next of kin : Mother and Grandmother, Mr. Beattie, 67 Richmond St. Aberdeen
Travelling with son Andrew age 3 and daughter Helen age 2 "claim born in U.S."
The 1920 Census shows no appropriate Catherin Doig although there should be one according to the 1930 Census which lists:
Thomas G. Doig age 40, Andrew Doig son 15, Helen Doig daughter age 15, Catherine J. Doig age 12. Jane Doig (Thomas mother) age 77, Andrew Doig (Thomas brother) age 53,)
It would appear that Catherine Sr. possibly died during or shortly after childbirth of Catherine J. Doig age 12
If you think this is the right family please pm me and I will give you all the census details for 1930.
It's a lot of typing for what possibly might not be the right family.
Also Ancestry has a Public Tree with Catherin Beattie in it showing that she married Thomas Gray Doig in 1912...although no source given. It also states she died in Brookline, Massachuettes in 1918 which fits in with what you have although I don't think there was a source for that either.
Hope this is the right family....let me know please.
